Welcome to Whitley Bay u3a
St. Mary's Lighthouse, Whitley Bay
Whitley Bay u3a provides its members with a wide range of skill, learning and friendship opportunities which in turn maintains mental and physical fitness, key to staying happy and healthy in later life.
Formed in 1998 and now with over 400 members, Whitley Bay u3a is part of a large international organisation which in the UK has over 1,000 branches and 400,000 members.
Membership is open to anyone no longer in full-time work irrespective of age or ability. All we ask is that members treat fellow members with respect and courtesy and abide by the principles of the u3a movement. To find out more about u3a, click on the link to our National Office at the bottom of this page.
Whitley Bay u3a, as with all u3as, is run by members for members. Everyone is a volunteer and volunteering can range from setting out tables and chairs at group activities, organising a group, committee membership or one of the many other roles that make our u3a work.
If you are interested in joining or want to find out more about u3as, click on Membership. Hope to see you soon.
