Welcome to Whitley Bay u3a

"Nobody needs to stop learning just because they have finished working."

Whitley Bay u3a is for people who want to keep active in mind and body, enjoy socialising.

Membership is open to anyone no longer in full-time work irrespective of age or ability. Members come from across the North Tyneside area as well as Newcastle and South Northumberland. All we ask is that members treat fellow members with respect and courtesy and abide by the principles of the u3a movement. To find out more about u3a, click on the link to our National Office at the bottom of this page.

Whitley Bay u3a, as with all u3as, is run by members for members. Everyone is a volunteer and volunteering can range from setting out tables and chairs at group activities, organising a group, committee membership or one of the many other roles that make our u3a work.

If you are interested in joining, go to our Membership page. Hope to see you soon.

The Monthly Meeting

Each month we have an excellent speaker followed by socialising with tea/coffee. See the Monthly Meeting page for list of topics and speakers.  You are welcome to visit and learn more about us.

The Groups

Our u3a has 47 groups offering a wide variety of educational, activity and interest-based subjects. Please browse the list found on our Groups page.  New groups are added frequently. If you have a special talent or interest, we would love to hear from you. Please note, you need to be a member of Whitley Bay u3a in order to attend any of our groups.
