Group of the Month - Book Group

We like to read a wide range of books with enough depth to allow us to discuss plot, characters, style, believability and relevance. No one, however gives a formal review.

We have just finished discussing “The Cold Cold Ground “ by Adrian McKinty, a crime novel set in Northern Ireland at the time of the hunger strikes. We are currently reading “Emma” by Jane Austen  - variety is the spice of life!

Go the Book Group's dedicated page, in the list of groups below, if you are interested in finding out more about the group.

Please note, you need to be a member of Whitley Bay u3a in order to attend any of our groups.

We currently have 44 groups running in a variety of interests. You can see the list of all these groups further down this page.

Staying active is important to leading a healthy lifestyle and we try to balance our activities between physical, social and learning new skills.

Non members are allowed to attend a "taster" session with two different groups as a guest before committing. If you are interested, please contact the membership secretary to arrange this. Please do not turn up to a group without prior consent.

Have an idea for a new group? Please contact our Group Coordinators for more information and support. It would be great to hear from you.

For security reasons, we do not publish contact details on the website.
